Hi! We see you’re using an ad-blocker. We’re fine with that and won’t stop you visiting the site.
But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!
I am running Firefox 1.5.0.1 also (but without Adblock - I only have Flashblock and Talkback loaded) and it downloads just fine.
Are you using a download accelerator extension? This may be your problem.
Nope, no download extension is loaded.

You could try removing your extensions from Firefox one by one and try downloading again - this should identify what is causing your problem.
I have tried this also, to no avail. I also uninstalled and re-installed Firefox (with no extensions) and still it doesn't do anything except load a page with the title, sidebar etc, but no content.
Maybe it's the company firewall that I'm behind. I'll ask the admins. _________________ Garmin Nuvi
Have you read earlier posts in this Forum in particular Mullet and mine rest assured it does download O'K?
Yes I have, and I have no doubt that it works for some people, although you appear to have loaded an extension in order to view the site within IE. So it's not really working in Firefox for you either.
I was merely pointing out that using Firefox doesn't work for me either. I see that it works for Darren, so there's something else that's going on in combination.

If still no success try I.Explorer
Thanks, but no thanks . Firefox is my browser of choice and it works for every other site that I visit, including banking and finance sites. I'd rather help the team resolve the current issues for future users than side step them.
I agree with everything you say, but if know the Motorway is closed do you go and wait in the jam or find an alternative route until it's cleared?
Sorry I was no help to you, others may think differently.

:D Well that depends. If sitting in the queue will help them clear the road to the point that it will never happen again, I'd be prepared to make the sacrifice if I had the time.

Not a problem, thanks for the input. _________________ Garmin Nuvi

jspss, which file have you downloaded and for which sat nav system did you choose?, it could be your firewall settings that are knocking out the file extension, the issue you quote from biggles can be due to having POIEdit loaded onto the PC, this causes Windows to give .OV2 files a type decription of "TomTom Binary", but the files are fine once unzipped. Thanks for reply... I selected "tomtom ov2", then selected "speed zone complete 23 files", I have actualy tried them all. I dont have any problems with other Zip files or files in general.
My firwall has not prevented any other files from being downloaded, including other PIOs from the pocket gps website.
I dont have POIEdit loaded.
The file I get just says "downloadcameras" and here is a small sample of what it looks like opened with, say, notepad,
ع#'cšt‹?ȱ7“۫j†˜O~97ll”“)?˜;c–Bšc*‰w*Q*i—„y4;m` fˆ3“”˜?{gspW
I would be obliged if you could solve my problem please, I have been using and contributing to the database since it started.

Thanks,
Very frustrated DB5
Hi DB5,
So sorry for the late reply, I've just arrived home from the CeBIT Exhibition, Hanover where PocketGPSWorld.com are exhibiting. It was busier than we thought and I didn't get a chance to check my PMs.
Apart from that, the connection was cripplingly slow, especially poor for what is the World's largest tech expo! (Excuses, excuses, eh?)
We managed to send out email at the rate of about 5 every couple of hours (no, really!) The connections only lasted a few minutes at a time.
There must have been a time out on the system as I can confirm that you were indeed not registered as a member. All sorted now - again, apologies

I have passed this on to the more technical members of the team. They are running a stand and blogging (see home page if interested) from CeBIT at present, so please forgive them if they are a little late in responding.

We're looking at the cause of this isue which is difficult as it affects only a small number of users with no apparent common cause, I use Firefox as my default browser with no issues.
If anyone is struggling in the meantime, email me your User ID and the files you need and I'll send them by return. _________________ Darren Griffin

Hi
I managed to download the zip file (for tomtom) but it will not unzip or mount on the desk top. No problem with the old free version (except last update before subs started suspiciosly least accurate of all).
I'm using Apple OS10.3.9 Please help.

I am having the same problem downloading with Firefox as some others (no problems with IE).
I am using Firefox 1.5.0.1 and have the following extensions loaded:
DOM Inspector 1.8.0.1
Talkback 1.5.0.1
PDF Download 0.6
Tabbrowser Preferences 1.2.8.8
and I have also got Dowload Accelerator Plus 7.5.1 configured to run with Firefox.
I can select the sat nav type, and pick the type of download that I want but when I click the Download Database button I get forwarded to a page with
'PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Cameras' as a heading and
'[ Speed Camera index]' as a footer but just a blank box for the body
