My quest arrived today & on first glance/fiddle I'm very impressed - just waiting for my motorcycle kit to arrive now & then me & my Bandit'll be scouring the 4 corners of the globe (well, England for starters )
Couple of questions for you all :
Can I upload POIs to mu unit in exactly the same way as I can with my Garmin i3?
Can I upload speedcams, redlights etc. too & if so, do you still get the notifications when entering a "camera" area?
I take it there's no "post-code-search" either (bit miffed bout that & the fact that the route can't be shown in 3D actually but, hey ho at least it's waterproof!! :D ) |

The Quest 2 can do all of that (POI's, speedtrap warnings, full postcode search), the Quest 1 not. _________________ Robert Elsinga =8- )

Thought as much...never mind though, reckon it'll suit me for a while.
Anyway, further questions.....
My Garmin motorcycle kit arrived today & after much ooing & aahing I realise (to my disappointment) that I STILL can't get my Quest mounted because I still need a ruddy mount to attach the holder to the bike (thinks: rip off!!)
Could someone please tell me where I can get such a mount, quickly & cheaply (if possible) - I don't want a long-arm type mount...just a neat, tidy mount to fit my Renthals between the risers. |

Not much help but I did the same - bought a motorcycle mount assuming that would allow me to fix it to my Firestorm, but when it arrived I discovered I needed another bracket. I would have fabricated something but some uninsured decided to take me, and the bike out just before Xmas. |

Hi
GPS Warehouse does a ram mount kit I got one on a deal with the Quest2. You can download POI re speed cams from this site although I have not found any sites yet that have waypoints or POI specifically for Q2 (except Elsinga) I would have thought there would have been 100's by now I was looking for Alpine passes earlier in the year but recon I will save waypoints of passes from trip I am planing this year and maybe start a website for pass baggers with POI for those who become saddle tramps for their holidays round Europe each year, how to convert waypoints into POI is something I need to learn. I don't think that folk in general including Garmin have grasped the potential of Q2 yet and the general info that could be shared between people and what we need is someone brighter than me to set up POI on this site or somewhere to share info. There you are I have thrown the gauntlet down. |

You can use almost any sort of POI collection there is, just convert it to Garmin CSV with www.poiedit.com and youre there. ;)
And yes, my site links to various other sites that have nice collections. And I host some nice icons too. So, feel free to browse around. :D _________________ Robert Elsinga =8- )

And since I can't edit my own post...
Feel free to mail me sites with collections worth mentioning or own collections/icons (no rips from others please, I'll gladly link to them) you want to share. _________________ Robert Elsinga =8- )
