Hi
how do you make garmin street pilot i3 sat nav go the way you want it to until you reach a point where you need its help rather than going on its fastest or shortest route as i find it better to stay on motorways. It seems to offer strange routes or perhaps im just set in my way about which way to start off i just need to know the last part of my journeys
THANK YOU |

You have three options I think.
1) Set your destination and ignore all voice prompts and it will just keep recalculating. When you need help, just follow the instructions.
2)Don't set your destination and drive and thn when you need help, programme in your destination.
3) Enter you detination and then set a via point on the route you wish to take.
Hope this helps |

All I do is save the point I wish to go to either as a favourite or a recent find and the drive to the point where I need help and then select the point quickly from either of these two. |

Set it to route to your destination then switch it off. When you want it's help switch it on and it will automatically recalculate.
You could also turn the volume down and you won't notice her nagging you and telling you that you went the wrong way.
May I also politely suggest that you follow the i3's directions and see what happens! You may actually find an interesting alternative route (or it might be a complete waste of time!).
Good luck! _________________ Gone fishing! |

Mine found a brilliant short cut in Lincoln the other day that saved me about a mile, but other than that I prefer to stick to motorways too and generally set my destination at the start of the journey and just ignore her until I get to the point I need help from. |
