Hello
I have an Dell Axim X5 with a cf gps system, I purchased a special GPS suction mount off the Internet for it. Well, it doesn't bl**dy well stay there!
Can anyone offer any help or advise? I would be pleased to know of any mounts suitable for the kit. I have a Citroen Xsara and a Xsara Picasso. |

DELL AXIM ACCESSORIES » DELL AXIM X5 ACCESSORIES
Silver Shield Dell Axim X5 Amplified Speaker Mount for GPS Navigation
This is not spam and I am in no way connected to the web site.
If you still want a good mount give it a look.

I'm also looking for a decent in-car mount for a Axim X51v and I'm curious if anyone has used one with a vent-mount setup? I live in the Northeast over here in the USA and I can't use a suction cup unit until the car is fairly warm inside (during the winter). I've gotten by with my current iPaq/Navman 3450 setup, but have had the mount pop off several times.
I'm probably going to buy the Axim within the next 10 days, and most likely a Globalsat BT338 bluetooth gps as well. Since I don't have to have a GPS strapped on to the PDA, it'll be come more convenient to remove the PDA and perhaps carry it with me when I'm out of the car. I do home inspections so if I could develop some sort of checklist or form that I could incorporate into the PDA that would be even better.
I was also wondering if there are mounts that would allow you to keep a case or part of a case on the PDA while nested in the mount. For instance... if I had a Rhinoskin 2-part shell, I could have the belt mount on my waist and when I leave the car I could just slide it into the other section.
Lastly, I wonder about the need for a mount with a built-in speaker. My iPaq 3970 is so loud that I have the sound tuned down a bit so the directions don't get downright annoying. Is the speaker on the Axim that weak that it'd need a amplified speaker? Or is that just a gadget that is added to make the mount look like a good value?
Thanks for the advice.
