I have just bought a Nuvi 300, my first GPS and love it.
I want to install the free GATSO files but the latest download does not mention Nuvi (or Garmin for that matter) in the read me.
Does anyone know which folder to use for the Nuvi.
Also, my Nuvi is not usable when attached to the PC. Is that normal or is there a way to activate it which I have missed?
Another limitation I have seen somewhere is the 500 MP3 files limit. If the limit is correct even buying a large SD card would not help with songs above 500. Anyone tried to load more than 500? |

i have the nuvi too i use the csv files the speeded ones..i have moded them a bit so i have the images aswell with the garmin poi loader you can set the speed limits for each camera eg 30 for the 30mph gatso etc so it will beep till you slow down to say 30mph absulutly excellent if you want the file that i have made up pm me .
with the poi loader you have to load every thing at the same time not the gatso first then the mobile etc all have to be in the same file and all previous poi that you have installed will be deleted ..
the nuvi goes into data transfer mode when pluged in via usb if you want to charge the unit at home plug the usb lead into the pc then the other end in to the windscreen cradle then it will charge?? |

With the Garmin POI loader just point it to the single version/csv/other folder and they load absolutely fine. I load them by the manual version as I hated the constant speed warning as I drove up to the camera and beyond. I have one proximity alert set for about 300 ft. |

You have to load the data base in manually rather than automatically. This allows you to then put in the distance. I have mine at 350 ft. |

Hi
I have a Nuvi 300 (updated to ver 2.60) , bought a few days ago, have installed the Garmin POI installer. Added the PGPSW camera database, all the cameras appear in custom POI.
I did a Man install and set the prox alert to 300ft, with the the prox alert on, tried it out on the way to work. Set a route and nothing?? No alerts when passing the many cameras.
Checked the custom poi's and they all say the distance to alert is over 1000ft, all are diferent but, over a 1000ft. The speed to alert is 20, 30, 40 etc etc.
Deleted all the Cust poi's and did another man install to alert at 300ft, same thing happend, all the custom poi's have distances of over 1000ft?
Even when I drove with no route planned recieved no alerts.
Can anyone shed any light on this or give another way to install set up the camera poi's.
Other than this the NUVI is a great piece of kit. _________________ Cheers,
