When I am out on the road & look up a POI, I always get them listed & and and the distance measured from my home location. Can this be changed to the current position?
Using 5.21.

If you have a fix, the distances (as the crow flies) should be from your current location. _________________ Tim |

Thanks, Just tried it again and it works ok now. Perhaps I did not have a fix at the time I tried it on the road. I was trying to find a restaurant and I could only get those near my home. Most frustrtating.

You can also see more POI's than those near to your location (or from home if you are using A-B planning without a fix) by tapping on the keyboard symbol which appears when the nearest particular POI's you require are listed.
Eg, you use Navigate to, then POI, then (for example) Restaurant. This then lists those near to home or your GPS position.
Now tap the Keyboard symbol in the lower left corner of that screen and you will be able to put the whole or part of another Restaurant name you are looking for. This then lists more relevant POI's. _________________ XDA Orbit (the best so far)

Thanks for that info. I have also found it's easy to change the Home location to the cursur postition ( save home in favorites fist to reset it afterwards) then all the POI's work from your current (ie new home) location. Useful in a city when you know where you are but are looking for a POI. |
