Hi Everyone,
Right - I now have my garmin (i3) and imported the safety camera info from your site, there are places that are not covered that I am aware of and have saved these points while driving past the particular spots by pressing and holding the black roller button in the centre of the unit - However it still does not give me any detailed coordinates as to where it is geographically and just gives me the option to show me a map.
Is this how it is done as I do want to help with this database when ever I can as it is a excellent idea, and your further guidance will be helpful in giving the correct location and most importantly can the exact location be found using the I3.
Sorry if this sound a bit silly but im new to all this, Thanks.
Regards
Justin. |

Hi, yes know the feeling but you will need a purchase a copy of Garmin Mapsource to import them. Luckily it does not seem to need the latest version and you can upload the new waypoints you have created. Unless others can suggest a cunning way you are stuck with them in your i3. Although reading the database news a lot of people may not submit amendments anyway...
Hope this helps? |

If you have the location of the cameras saved on the i3 and view them on the map you can find the location on http://www.streetmap.co.uk/.
The detail of the location gives the lat. and long. |

The mapsource version I have is 6.9.1 its not City Select, have a look on garmin website. Its not cheap however, not sure recent price.
Its also a worry as the thread about charging for speed database maybe free to those who have contributed but this as you describe as not easy for us lowly i3 owner.
Have a good christmas! |
