|
|
Hi Guys.
Had my TT300 for about 10days, best bit of kit I've ever bought.
I've sorted most things out but,one thing I am not certain of is, is it possible to have the correct speed limit shown when a speed camera location is signalled.
I seem to get 25 flash up every time, then the distance to the camera.
Any help much appreciated. |

Have you downloaded the 18 files you need for the speed warnings to work properly? Actually 36 files if you include the matching .bmp files.
See this thread: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=29349&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45
It's a bit long but lists the files you want. There's also a sticky thread near the top of the page of this forum about the same subject. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Have downloaded the files and installed them into the UK maps folder.
I get the speed notification but I am still getting the 25 flash up were the camera warning shows. In fact the 25 is 0.25.
Could it be that I have programmed TT to show the camera's to far ahead.
Just a thought. |

You should get the speed limit flash (top left corner of screen) with the distance to the camera underneath. The distance counts down until you get to it. I've never seen a 0.25, where does it appear- in the screen or the blue bit underneath? _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

The 0.25 flashes in the top left hand corner of the screen, it disappears and is replaced by the distance countdown to the camera.
As far as I can tell I've downloaded and installed all the files needed, I'm going to check the SD card to make sure they are all in the right place.
Your help is appreciated. |

I found that some of the files had installed in the wrong place, I've moved/deleted them and I'll try the unit tomorrow to see the result.
I'll post back with the outcome. |

Don't forget that you can always check that your set-up is working by running a "demo" of a route past a camera that you know, rather than driving past it for real. |

If you want to hear the alerts, the Demo has to run at less than 300% _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

On demo or for real 0.25 and 0.30 shows up on the top left-hand corner and then the countdown to the camera takes over.
I must have a file or files either not downloaded or installed in the wrong place.
When I get a quite moment I'll run a thorough check.
I'll post back with the outcome.
Thanks for all your help. |

Hi nascar9,
There are some guides that should be read (in the following order), in particular the beginner’s guide to the PocketGPSWorld camera database, which explains the speed zoned camera databases:
The beginner’s guide to the PocketGPSWorld camera database.
This explains about the different camera types and about categories and subcategories, so that you can decide how you want the database on your unit.
Depending on whether you have TomTom Navigator on a Pocket PC or TomTom GO, please read either:
How to install (camera database) POIs to TomTom Navigator 5.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto a Pocket PC running TomTom Navigator 5.
How to install (camera database) POIs onto a TomTom GO.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto your TomTom GO.
The above guides may look lengthy and complicated when first seen. However if you grab a cup of coffee and read each one thoroughly then they should make sense as they have been written in a step-by-step way, for ease of reading.

Regarding the Nov POI database how many files should there be to install into the Uk map.
The ov2bmp folder has a total of 12 files.
The other folders have a differing number of ov2 and bmp files.
Do I install all of those as well or just the 12 from the ov2 and bmp folder. |

I deleted everything on the SD card a 512mb that I use in the TT.
Did a complete reinstall including the update from TT to 5.4
Copied the ov2 and bmp files into the GB map folder.
30 files in total.
Set up the POI's
The camera alerts show OK but I still get 0.25 showing in the top left-hand corner. |
