HardWire Holux 236

All,

I have a Holux 236 receiver and would like to hardwire it inside the boot of my BMW. The battery of my car is also in the boot and my plan was to purchase a female car lighter holder and attach the wires to the postive and negative terminals of the battery. Then using the supplied car charger that came with the Holux I would plug this into my female car lighter holder thus a permanent supply to the Holux 236.

Firstly would this work? Secondly is the fuse in the supplied Holux car charger enough to protect my receiver from an electrial surges e.g. when starting the car?

I see no reason why it shouldn't work. But I would personally put another fuse between the socket and the battery, but best to consult an auto electrician. Would you get surges if it is fitted in parallel as you are suggesting?
