I've successfully (or so I thought) got POI loader installed on my PC from Garmin. I'm using a BMW Navigator 2 which I thought was compatible, but when I try to run POI Loader, it says Locate Device, and when I do, it says No compatible device found - "some devices were found; however none have the necessary capabilities. Please make sure your divece is connected to the computer and turned on, then try again. You may also need to set the interface opion on your GPS to "Garmin" or "Host". Well I don't follow that at all, as there is nowhere that I can find on the Garmin to configure that! Anyone got any bright ideas? Does the Navigator 2 work with this, or am I doing something daft? Help needed please.
Regards Philip. |

Thanks for the reply. I spent a while hanging on for Garmin tech support - after I managed to get the database onto the flash card using a card reader/writer - only to be told that there isn't enough memory in the Navigator 2 for them to update it so that it could use this type of POI info. Silly or what. I would have thought that motorcyclists are the most likely to need that kind of info - above all other users, because of the nature of motorcycling. Oh well.

The problem is simply that the BMW Navigator/StreetPilot is simply not capable of managing large numbers of POIs such as Safety Cameras. The POI Loader is intended for the newer c and i series units. _________________ Darren Griffin |
