Well OK, maybe I exaggerate slightly. The problem is this - my Ipaq 2210 and Tomtom Bluetooth work brilliantly together, but when I try to use the Ipaq on its own, it seems impossible to turn off Bluetooth to save battery life. The GPS symbol is always in the bottom right of the screen, and if I use Bluetooth Manager to turn off Bluetooth, immediately Bluetooth Console pops up looking for a device and Bluetooth comes back on. Presumably I need to disable the GPS driver so that it stops seeking the Tomtom - is there an easy way of doing this? |

Our Bluetooth is always flashing . . . assume it is meant to. I just turned on the Bluetooth Manager and it said I was performing an illegal operation. My advice is if it aint broke, don't try and fix it. Buffy :0) |

If GPS is still running in the background then you could use iTask to quit it (is this installed on 2210's?). if it's not available then a soft reset will quit any running apps and you should then be able to turn Bluetooth off. _________________ Darren Griffin |

If you use Exit in the File menu to close down TTN then the GPS symbol should disappear. Using the X at top right of the screen will leave TTN running in the background so the GPS symbol will still show.
I have noticed on occasions, mostly after changing between maps, that the GPS symbol will still be there after using File | Exit. Then a soft reset is required.

I've encountered similar problems to Richard, where the 2210 can get confused and 'crashes'. It's most likely to happen if you're using TTN2 but are not connecting to an Emtac (in my case). i.e. if sitting at home learning the app, but not connected to the GPS receiver. Sometimes when closing TTN2, the GPS symbol will remain. Then I must do a normal reset, proding the stylus into the back of the 2210. It also sometimes happens at the end of a real journey and I'm closing everything down, but in either case it doesn't happen often enough to be a major annoyance.
Very generally speaking, this doesn't happen if I exit via the Navigator screen i.e in Navigator view, tap on the screen, hit 'More' then tap on 'Exit application'. Then the 2210 will nearly always behave itself after coming out of TTN2. |
