For your interest if your Tom Tom 500 goes dead suddenly check if a green light is on when plugged in if it is
2) Take out the sd memory card. Use a paper clip to press the reset button and press the on/off button for a few seconds for a little while.
Then your Tom Tom will start up not sure this will do the same as the 300 or 700

This works for all the model types.
By the way, you don't need to remove the SD card - just press the reset button and it will restart withouyt having to press the on/off button.
What it does is to restart the processor, effectively "rebooting" the machine |

We tried the reset button on it's own did not work, but when Tom Tom custumer services rang they told us what to do and it work, you mabe be right about the sd card we are just being cautious
