my map on tom tom has a blue overlay over the displayed map when I am on a long country road or on the motorway.
Is this usual?
However when I get to a turn off or section it
(map)restores itself and gives necessary directions. |

You just need to adjust the safety speed in properties.

I have my safety speed set at 75mph, that way I get a warning when I know I'm breaking the speed limit on motorways at least. You can set it to whatever you fell comfortable with, and what speed you fell you need to be warned at.

If you go over the safety speed, the screen turns to the blue background you talk about. I have mine set to 80, for the same reason Alan mentions.

I never realised this is what it did. Is there any manual for some of the lesser known features of TTN2? |

You need to also check out the TT website, underneath the updates, to see what 2.24 (and earlier) brings by way of improvements......

For me, 45mph really is the right 'safety speed' - when travelling above that, I find I don't need the map, and having it scrolling away in my peripheral vision is a distraction.

Unfortunately I couldnt get the CD to run on my desk top
it just blanked out my screen to black, when I press the download button(or what ever)
Had to go to PC world for help to down load maps-so CD ok
but configuration on my desk top must be wrong.
