I recently purchased the Qwest 2. This is my first GPS device and I've got several questions.
1) MapSource Software - I'd like the Mapsource Software on my PC, but the Qwest 2 unit didn't come with the DVD, only a piece of paper that says I have a registration code and unlock code. Do I have to purchase Mapsource separate at full price, and if so, why did they give me this piece of paper with the registration code and unlock code?
2) I've updated my unit to V3.4. However, something strange is going on when I try to save certain items to "My Locations". For example, I created a folder called "Hawaii" and tried to save the Waikiki Marriott to that folder. But when I go to the My Locations, the Marriott doesn't appear, even when All Categories are displayed. So I tried saving a gas station to the folder, and it worked. Then I went back and tried saving the Marriott again, and it still doesn't show up. Although each time I try to save the Marriott again to the Hawaii folder, I've noticed that in the field that displays the Hotel name it will say, "Marriott-Waikiki Beach Resort 2" and the next time it will say 3, 4, and so on. So it looks like the system thinks it is saved in the folder so its renaming the Title field each time to something different. This is driving me crazy.
3) Is this the best forum for the Garmin Quest 2, or are there others as well that I can learn from?
I've got more questions, but I start with these three. Thanks all.
1) you don't get mapsource with your Quest 2. You should be able to use any Mapsource version, even Trip&Waypoint Manager.
3) you might find the Quest FAQ & HowTo pages usefull. Created for the Quest 1, most (if not all) should also apply for the Quest 2. _________________ Robert Elsinga =8- )
