|

With the Permanent Docking Kit you are supposed to be able to link the night vision of the maps to the car headlights. But when I select this from the docking preferences screen , the TomTom immediately switches to night view; I dont even have to switch the headlights on. I can only turn it back to day mode when I untick the LINK TO HEADLIGHTS option.
Has anyone got this feature to work as intended? _________________ 1970 Mercedes W113 280SL

If it's installed in one of your Volvos with permanently-on headlamps, it is perhaps not surprising!

Nice thought . Though sadly the problem exists even when the relevant (orange) wire in the Docking Kit harness is disconnected. So it appears this is a problem with the Docking Kit itself. _________________ 1970 Mercedes W113 280SL

I don't regret buying the kit as hearing the directions through the car speakers (and having the radio automatically muted), and the external aerial make it worthwhile in itself. The headlights option is more of a fun-thing, but I do agree with you, that if other users can't get it to work either, it is clearly a flaw in the design. And as such, that particular aspect seems not have been tested sufficiently. _________________ 1970 Mercedes W113 280SL

I have just installed mign myself and I have had no problems.
I have a pic of the headunit wiring if you want to compare to yours.
Have you tried a different go?
I noticed on the VIB it said V2 perhaps they had problems with V1. |

You are not running v5.202 with the special apps from ScaredyCat, with Autoswitch? |

Your headlights should give a +12V signal to trigger night mode, and ground signal for daylight mode. |
