|
|
Anyone know what file(s) I need to copy onto my SD card to "auto install" Destinator onto my Acer N35. When it was new I poppped the card in and it was all there just like magic.
But recently I zapped the card and installed via PC software. However, I was out one day and my N35 froze, no power or anything, so did a hard reset. Problem is I "lost" the stuff in ram, although my SDcard still had the maps etc. Once home I could reinstall the software no problem, but I'd have prefered to just take out the SDcard and pop it back in there and then - so I could find home in the first place.
Anyone care to tell me what files are on the "original" setup sdcard (please)
PS anyone had similar N35 freeze up problems? |

Destinator 3 or PN?
You need the 2577 folder, and CAB files in there. But the number of CAB files differs vastly between these two versions. _________________ Lutz

Sorry I forgot to say which version.
Help screen says "Destinator Personal Navigation System" v3.0.75 XXXXVII. (The one that comes supplied with the N35 from Ebuyer!)

To backup and restore files go to the Start screen then tap Propgrams then Backup Restore.
After installation you should find the folder containing the files you need to backup in the path My Device/DestinatorApps.
For those with a working original SD card there's no need to backup as Destinator will reinstall following a hard reset. |

Having just suffered through a SD card corruption I strongly advise to backup the entire SD card to the PC from time to time. _________________ Lutz

*wise words indeed*
I seem to not have a 2577 directory or a "destinator.cab" on my N35, or on the CD. Have I missed something, or am I looking in the wrong place, or just stupid (please don't say "c")? |

So given I didn't back the original card up is there anyway I can recreate it?
I have all the original software on CD, but just cant find the 2577 stuff on there anywhere. I assume I can create a sub-directory on the SDcard and just copy the files in there(?). So I suppose the next question is where are they stored or do they *just* come on the original card. If so is it possible to recreate them somehow? |
