|
|
Hi,
I currently have TTN5 with the TT bluetooth gps unit running on an ipaq4150. Iam looking at gettnig a new mobile and possibly a new pda too, I have been pointed to theiPAQ 6515 to kill 2 birds with one stone but am a bit of a thicky when it comes to new stuff , so can anyone be kind enough to answer a few questions for me?
1. Can I just put my sim card in the iPAQ 6515 and it will work?
2. Can I sell my BT GPS reciever and old ipaq 4150 and keep the TTN5 software I have and load it on the iPAQ 6515 if I buy it?
3. Is the iPAQ 6515 compatable with the Parrot CK3100 so that the phone function and the gps function works with it?
4. If all of the above is good news to me, does anyone know of a good retailer that sells it at a reasonable price? Best I have found is £375 so far
Cheers

This is the best 6515 forum on the web I've found so far.
http://davesipaq.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=83
You'll see heavy talk about the GPS and what apps are best.
(see sticky at top)
I'm a 6515 user and love it! It's so sweet to wip out your phone while on vacation and know what resturants are around the block from you. |

@s4czech: Please at least try to answer the guy's questions. I'll leave the link in but would ask you to be more considerate. _________________ Lutz

ok, sorry you're right! (my bad)
1. If you use the UK imported versoin of the hw6515 is unlocked and will work wiht any GSM provider (T-Mobile, Cingular, etc) It's QUAD band
The USA release is due out in a few weeks and will be LOCKED for cingular only. You can buy the UK 6515 at www.expansys.com
2. YES
See: http://davesipaq.com/forum/showthread.php?p=42498#post42498
3. I never tried th eParrot CK3100 but I think I remember hearing it worked on the 6315. The 6515 has the latest and greatest bluetooth stack so it should work. i heard the 6515 is the only pocket pc phone edition to work with the BWM bluetooth so chances are high it will work!
4. ebay or expansys is all I know at this time |

Cheers for the above answers.
I have had a good look on HP website now.
Can you answer the following?
1. What is the battery life like? Will it last a full day like a mobile phone or will it struggle like an ipaq?
2. Does it come with TTN5? The HP website hints it does but does not say conclusively.
3. If not will it use tomtom nav or tomtom mobile?
Cheers in advance |

Just to confirm, I am a bit of a thicky. Does the unit come with a working version of TTN5 or do I need to upgrade? If so whats the damage to the old wallet?
Does the battery that comes with it not perform too well then? I don't mind charging once a day. |

excellant! Cheers for the help, just waiting for the buyer of my current system to come up with the reddies!
He is family and have given him 'special price' however, should the sale fall through what is a sensible asking price for >
iPAQ 4150, boxed in good nick as new
TTN5 with BT reciever mk II
MOWE discs
Car mounts/car chargers etc?
I bought the PDA before I considered GPS, however the tomtom kit isa month or so old! |

Yeah, done that, but there seems to be a lot of TTN5 software and MOWE selling on buy it now for about a tenner!!! Clearly bogus software! It looks like my sale has fallen through so I have listed it on the for sale/wanted forum of this site snd I am open to offers.
There are a lot of people on this site who have more knowledge than me about this stuff so if anyone wants it and comes in with a price I am happy to accept then all well and good.
I did notice a buy it now for a set up the same as mine on ebay, the only difference was where I am chucking in MOWE he was chucking a 1gb SD card. The set up was going for £250 |
