Hello I am running TT 3.01 and I recently installed the speed camera POI files that I found on this site (thank you so much) however, I can't seem to get tom tom to warn me about approaching the POI's like it says in the tom tom go tutorial I used to help me install the files to my CF card on my Ipaq.
Do I need to update? any ideas?!
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi ipub,
to the forum!
TomTom 3.xx won't warn you, you need a third party POI detector like CheckPOInt 2.0.2, which can be downloaded from this website, have a look at the download section.
BTW, TTNav 3.01 is quite old. I'd download the free 3.07 from the TomTom website. TTNav 5 upgrade can now be ordered form TomTom!

thanks for the tips. very much appreciated. TT3 is doing me proud at the moment and my old flagging ipaq struggles with it as it is. I will keep this until I can justify another PDA
Will download files and report back if i have any other trouble. |

As a precaution, I’d recommend that you get Sprite backup software as well (if you haven’t already got it) and make a backup before you make any changes – like installing CheckPOInt. As you have an iPAQ you should be able to purchase Sprite backup for about US$10.

The standard CF backup program that comes with the OS not good enough ?
ALso, I am having difficulty find the update to 3.07, any ideas please?
I've added the POI detector and it seems awesome so far! Thanks |

The backup software that comes as standard with the iPAQ is a cut down version of Sprite Backup and people have found that it doesn’t always produce a viable backup when a restore is needed. The latest version of Sprite Backup (3.1.4 build 2419) will definitely backup your iPAQ to its storage card. Sprite backup is a "must have" utility!
TomTom Navigator 3.07 can be found on the TomTom website downloads page here. You don't need 3.07T unless you want to pay to subscribe to TomTom Traffic.
