|
|
Hi there !
I have on a 512 MB SD card the BENELUX, FRANCE and Major roads.
I just got my upgrade package of "Maps of Western Europe" (5 CD's).
How should I install the upgrade ?
First delete everything on my SD card ?
Or ... ?
Thanks ! |

When inserting the CD1 of 6 of my "Maps of Western Europe package", I'm getting the following message :
Not enough free Space on temporary folder
Cannot run setup.
So the setup is just not running ...
Any idea ? |

First thing I would do is copy the sd card to your hard drive.
Not had any experience with MOWE only guessing but one the the discs should have a setup program on it.
Maybe use original disc to remove old maps first or delete map folders from sdcard. What version software are you using? 4.4 5 or 5.1. .....
You could format card and load only the software and then try setup ? _________________ Ray

I have version 5.1 ...
but problem seems to come from the PC itself, where it seems there is not enough space on the temporary folder ?!? (I don;t know which one, since I have 21 Gigs free on it ...) |

no no ...
TOMTOM GO is not connected to my PC at this point.
I'm just inserting the CD1 of my Upgrade package, and the autorun is launched and then I have that popup window saying :
Not enough free Space on temporary folder
Cannot run setup.
... so it is just a "PC problem", although I still have 21 Gigs free on it.
I also tried to insert that CD to an other PC and the setup is launched correctly there @!@! so really not an SD card or TOMTOM device problem here !!!
I also tried the following :
- Put the CD1 of my Upgrade package (Maps of western europe) in the drive (The getting the error again), click ok.
- Launch the ttgoupg510.exe (That was the 5.1 upgrade executable)
- Setup is launched -> select "Add Maps" -> Benelux
- Screen proposing me the Benelux (62MB), Benelux Plus (167MB) or Nederland Postcodes (2MB).
- Selected Benelux PLUS
Now it is installing it !!!
So it seems like there is a problem with the autorun (Getting error message), but it is working when having the CD in the drive, and launching the RL5.1 program upgrade ...
It is explained nowhere ... what is going on here ?!? |

Now a problem with activation !!!!!
I'm selecting the Benelux Plus Map on my TT GO, asking to activate it going to ttcode.com.
Asking my 3x5chars product code, entering it.
Asking my Device code, entering it.
system is giving me an activation code which is not working !!!
argh ! |

another thing I noticed ...
when doing that procedure above (Putting the CD and then launching the 5.1 upgrade program to install the Benelux PLUS map), I see on the install window at the bottom that it is for RL5.00, and not 5.1 ?!?
Is that something normal ?
Anyway, the autorun is still not working directly when inserting the CD1 of my upgrade package on my PC !! |

Doesn't the CD installer look for the TomTom? I would expect that you would need to have it connected. The install in in Linux not windows. |

No, it doesn't matter if the TOMTOM device is connected to the PC / switched on or not.
Again, I've tried on another PC and the application is starting there (Without TT connected to the PC).
Only on my Laptop I'm getting that error message, complaining about missing space in the temporary folder ... but don't know which one !! |

Thanks a lot for this !!! I'll mention that to the mail I sent to the support team.
In the mean time, I found what the problem was on my PC with "Not enough space on temporary folder" ...
I went to "Documents and Settings/<user>/Local Settings/Temp", and found that directory was with lot's of things.
So I deleted that content and was able to run the autorun by inserting the CD !!!
so only remaining problem is with the activation, now !
thanks. |

OK, called TOMTOM, and they called me bac with a working activation code.
Seems like they had logistic problems, like if they sent the wrong packages to the wrong persons.
It is working now ! |
