Hi,
I'm a newbe to this forum as well.
I am living in Ireland and have wanted to purchase a sat nav system for my car for ages.
I have constantly been told the detail for Rep if Ireland is not good but the navteq maps are better than the teleatlas ones.
I final hear that the maps with the navigon PNA are 'ok' (for Ireland) and am about to purchase this system.
Now this thread has thrown me.
How soon will we know what maps are used (Tele Atlas or Navteq) in MN5? and if there Navteq - are they the Q4 2004 version (which looks very promising for Ireland. I can purchase the current model and then upgrade to MN5 when it is release for retail).
Lastly does anyone know how detailed the cruuent PNA maps are? I am really only looking for Primary and secondary roads. i.e. just be able to get from a to b on smaller roads.
Thanks in advance for any help. |

Hi, another newbie here but been lurking around for a while.
Got a FS Loox720 with MNŠ4 back in January, just received an email from Navigon about ver. 5. Log on to the link for a look see. It will cost me 129 Euros to upgrade BUT I must return the old original software in order to beneft!! But what if I don't like the newer version? I can't go back!
I have NEVER come across software upgrade where you have to return the old disks!!

And we have just discovered that TMC is NOT SUPPORTED in the UK with Navigon MN5.
Only RDS option now is Destinator 3! |
