I recently purchased an iPAQ 1910, is there a way to put an RS-232 interface on it?

Dear PC-Mobile,
Please state the above information about the Ipaq 1910 Serial non-connectivity on your Homepage.
Right now, I went to your homepage, the ipaq page, and found the information:
"Can all 38/39xx cables be used with 1910 and 54xx?
Yes. But many users find difficulties plugging the connectors in..."
This is misleading, even though on the Garmin page there is no mentioning of the 1910. One can think from the above quote, that the 38xx serial cable will work with the 1910, while this is not the case.
I am really sorry about it. It is a cute little PDA. |

That statement applies to the cables we have ON THAT PAGE (http://pc-mobile.net/compaq.htm), which are only USB sync cables (we now have 2 types).
We do not sell any serial cables for 38/39xx series so I do not think it is misleading. The statement applies only to the cables we sell.
That faq is on the page for many months and there was not a single complaint for buying a 38/39xx cable that does not work on a 1910.
If you imply that we should not make a statement for cables other companies sell then I do not agree with you.
GPS cables are on other pages so it does not apply.
There are many enquiries for GPS connection with 1910 and our answer is always: change to another PPC if you want to use GPS (literally).
The statement was there when 1910/5450 were first appearing on the market. Now MOST (probably not youself) should know about it so we might as well delete it.
We do this not because of your "complaint" but because the faq is not necessary since you brought it up.
