Can someone tell me if the latest POI Loader supports wav? I see from a forum search that an early beta version supported it but some of the later versions did not. Links to the old working beta version are now defunct. I have a full set of correctly named wav files in my camera database folder but when loaded I just get the 'Bong'. I tried shoving 'sox' into the loader but still no sound. Any ideas? or do I need the old beta version? |

I've tried the links given in Quote: | Beta version of POI loader (Garmin) | and they have all been either changed or broken (presumably by Garmin). Whether there are any good links in other threads or whether you can find any help there I don't know. Try a search (using 'ALL') for poiloder garmin beta wav or combinations to find the relevant threads.
Possibly some one has made a copy of what you want and may be able to help you - watch this space _________________ David

Thanks for the reply BigPerk, I've found a few links here on the forum but all defunct, a quick search on google shows lots of references to it but again all links are defunct. I thought the latest loader (no longer beta) surely would support wav but I guess not. |

Hi Dales, Its loader version 2.5.2 that I had a problem with ( thought it was the latest) , I've now downloaded 2.5.3 but still the same theres just no sound. If I load exactly the same files with the old beta loader everything is ok. Maybe its just an issue with my old nuvi 200, software is right up to date using web updater but hardware wise it is of course still an old unit. Interestingly the loaded file size is about 100kb smaller with the beta loader than 2.5.3 . Anyway I have voice warnings now so I'm happy. Cheers & Beers, HairyBP |

Yo. I had a similar problem. The following steps solved all issues:
1. Convert mp3 to wav and place them in the folder with PGSW database.
2. Install SOX 14.0.1, *not* the newest version, in the same folder as POILoader.
3. Run POIloader.
4. Follow instructions.
It looks like the latest version of SOX was causing problems in my case. I have the latest version POLloader. |

Hi I have subscribed to pgps for speed cameras which I have down loaded for UK and Europe onto sd card, and they seem to work fine.
My unit is 255W can some one explain (step by step please) how I can down load and use the voice alerts rather than just the bong sound
