|
|
In order to fix Garmin Express not working in windows 10 it is advisable that the user gets the configuration file deleted after that, also gets the latest windows to update installed. If you still need more information related to your Garmin express set up then for that you can connect with the experts as and when needed. Lines are open for help and support all the time.

Forgive my cynicism, but it appears from various posts here and elsewhere that Garmin CS have been less that successful in actually helping people resolve their problems, which is why they turn to forums.
Having said that, I realise that you are bound to get much higher proportion of unhappy customers with problems on public forums when compared with all of those where 'everything in the garden is rosy' . |

Can't admin stop people with less than 'n' posts from posting links. That would stop that sort of thing at a stroke. |

M,
This forum is run under a very old version of phpBB. I think newer versions allow the use of "Newly Registered Users Group"
The newly registered users group was added at 3.0.6 as a means to prevent spammers or new members from posting freely on the board after registering. Its default purpose is to allow you to put the first X number of posts from new members in to a moderation queue for approval before they show up on the board and some other smaller permission restrictions. All members of the board automatically become members of the registered users group but when the newly registered users group is activated, they go in to that group as well and take on some addition overriding restrictive permissions.
For further info see the phpBB post count limit.
I can't remember if users (both when they register and every time they log in) are checked via a plugin against the stopforumspam database for username, email, ip address.

Thanks for the detailed explanation Robert.
My question was really sort of rhetorical, but begging the answer "No" or "Yes, I'll get on to it". |

Maybe a mod could remove the links and ban the poster ?
I'm not prepared to test them to see where they go _________________ DashCam:

Hi K, links removed.
Hi M, I've asked in the past for the forum software to be updated to the latest version of phpBB. Unfortunately, the PGPSW site is so heavily modified that it would be almost impossible to upgrade because a 'mod' to do something in the current phpBB may not work with the latest version. So every mod would need to be analysed to see what it does, if it is necessary for the newer version, if it will work in the newer version, or if there's a better mod, etc.
So short answer is that it's highly unlikely that phpBB for this forum will be updated.
However, you never know, there might be a mod to control new users for the current phpBB.

I know someone who tried to upgrade from PHP2x to PHP3x and none of the transfer tools worked so staying with 2x for as long as possible is a good plan. _________________ DashCam:
