Hi there!
I am fairly new to this concept of Pocket GPS. I have recently bought one HP iPAQ 5000 series. I would like to buy one EMTAC Bluetooth GPS Receiver. I would be grateful if someone can answer my following silly questions.
1.Where can I buy EMTAC Receiver? Could you please give me some details of online stores? 2.Which you think is the best software to use with EMTAC? Is TomTom Navigator2 is compatible with this receiver? 3. What are the essential accessories required apart from PDA mount and flash card? 4.Do you have to copy the entire map to the flash card? ( Excuse my ignorance!)

We were all out Friday night drinking the night away
Online Stores check out Expansys, Premierelect, Global Positioning Systems just to name a few.
Software really depends on where you want to go. If you're looking for complete European maps, probably a toss between CoPilot 3.5EU, Navman GPS3400 (you need their sleeve though), or PowerLOC Destinator. We have reviews of each here on the website. If you're looking for UK maps and price is a factor, and you're not looking to navigate Cornwall/Devon much, then TomTom Navigator 2 would be a good option.
TomTom Navigator 2 will work with ALL GPS Receivers. This isn't necessarily so for the other GPS software/map products.
Accessories, you probably will want to purchase the PDA Mount of your choice, if you're using the EMTAC/Socket BT GPS then you'll also need a in-car charger for your Pocket PC.
Maps you have to install (via ActiveSync) the complete maps via your Pocket PC to the storage card. |

Thanks Dave for your prompt reply.
Sorry, some more stupid questions!
Will CoPilot 3.5EU work with EMTAC Receiver? How is its UK coverage? Do I need any special sleeve?
I am mainly looking for UK maps, but I think whole of Europe will obviously be an added advantage! _________________ Biju...... |

Yes it will, but you will need the software only version, and this will be locked to the storage card supplied with CoPilot. |

Thanks Dave.
Where can I get software only version? All the websites I have visited are selling it as part of GPS Package. _________________ Biju...... |
