Hi All,
I've been using the speed camera database on my dedicated TomTom SatNav for a long time but have just changed cars to a Hyundai i40 Tourer (2017) that has built-in SatNav. Although it has assorted POI's installed I don't see anything in the manual for adding/loading/importing other POI's. Maybe I just can't do it but wondered if anyone has found a way. I'm not even sure what SatNav the built-in application is based on and looking on the SD Card via my PC doesn't give any clues either.

Any suggestions ?

The folder structure should give a clue if you post a bit of it.

I've taken a backup copy of the SD Card onto my PC as a precaution so that I could have a poke around in there without accidentally screwing anything up. The only reference to POI seems to be in the "search" folder but I've attached a link to a screen shot showing the card's directory structure on the left with the centre and right panels showing the contents of the "Map" and "search" folders respectively. No idea what all the files with hafsz as their extension are for - not come across that file type before! I'm wondered if the POI stuff that's already installed is held in memory somewhere else other than on the SD card?

I see higher up that 'tree' there's a POI folder.

What's in there ?

There's no POI folder. If you mean where it says DEALERPOI and EVPOI they are not folders but single binary files.

Try one of the Hyundai forums for sat nav info?

This may help, assuming it's the same sat nav:

Unfortunately it doesn't look like the same SatNav or at least there's no ability to import POI's, only view or search the ones that are pre-loaded. It's interesting that the UK Hyundai web site says that all Hyundai's come with MapCare being free updates for life including speed cameras so I'll ask my dealer. The car I just purchased was a demonstrator so probably hasn't had any updates applied yet. I still don't know exactly what SatNav system is on it as there's nothing that I can recognise from the version numbers of the software.
Currently I'm using CamerAlert on my smartphone as a workaround and this seems to work well when connected to the car over Bluetooth. Would still be nice to have the ability to add other POI categories though like you can with TomTom.
