Most of us have experienced frustration with voice activated gadgetry but the irishman in this video was having less luck than usual as the BMW nav system struggled to interpret his accent.
The video, filmed from the rear seat, shows him beginning with a simple request to plot a new route but as the system struggles to understand his frustration grows and I suspect that were it not for the fact that it's built-in it might have been enjoying retirement in a hedgerow!
The language is 'colourful' so turn the speakers down if you're in the office or have young children nearby!

Reminds me of the similar situation when Clarkson had a go a few years ago. _________________ DashCam:

A few years ago I was in a GMC Envoy with ONStar, and between one girl's Savannah, GA accent (sweet and lilting), another girl's East Texas drawl, a third's Louisiana "Yat" and my German one, we couldn't get that damn thing to recognize any of our voices for "shiite". |

A316 average speed cameras go live on Monday
ReadMore The installation of new average speed cameras on the A316 in London were completed last month. The new cameras will be activated on Monday 13th June.
The The Home Office approved Siemens SafeZone cameras are being installed as part of a TfL contract to replace existing wet film cameras on four selected routes. The A40 went live in October last year and the A406 and A2 will be activated later this summer.
The system operates 24/7 in all weather conditions with each camera able to monitor two lanes of traffic and can identify the registration, make, model and colour of vehicles in all light conditions with average speed calculated over a measured distance within the speed enforcement zone. |
