And with speedos over reading, this would probably be an indicated speed of 60MPH. What's to discuss? Should we discuss how to get the absolute maximum speed out of them or should we discuss how to interpret the word "average"?
The idea of these cameras is to keep ALL drivers UNDER the limit ALL THE WAY through the area. That's a simple enough thing to do - stay under the posted limit all the way through. If we start to try and juggle over and under, we'll come a cropper one day. _________________ Dennis

Tired old man who's done 20,003 miles since 1st August (this year) and has been driving at more than that sort of mileage for the last 14 years. _________________ Dennis

Totally uncalled for. What Dennis said is quite true.

It's the speed limit, if you exceed it at any point it's definitely an offence.
The object is NOT to try to make your average speed between the cameras equal to the speed limit by breaking the speed limit to compensate for slower stretches.
As Dennis said, stay under the speed limit all the way through and you won't have a problem with your average speed. |
