This has suddenly happened. I am running Windows 7, 64 bit and have had no problems before to today. If I attach my Garmin to my PC it now takes a very long time for the PC to register that the device is there and, when it does, it doesn't see it as a Garmin and I can't access it as a drive.
The little blue triangle does not appear any more.
I have done the following:-
Changed the USB lead
Connected directly to the PC instead of through a hub
Reinstalled the USB drivers
Reinstalled Garmin Express
Reinstalled Webupdater
Reset the Garmin
Rebooted the PC after each reinstallation
Torn my hair out
Any help would be most welcome,
Many thanks,
Allan |

Thanks for this. I will shut the thing down and try another port and cable and see if that makes a difference. I will try a clean install of everything as well. |

Solved!!
None of that worked but this also applies to a PC suddenly not 'seeing' removable devices.
Shut all applications down.
Go into device manager
Uninstall all the USB hubs - however if you have a USB keyboard or mouse these will also stop so try to do these last
Shut off using the power switch
Switch back on
Windows will now load the drivers again and reinstall the USB hubs and drivers for devices that are attached. This takes a while.
Bingo!!
