No, we have recorded a new set of male/female voices specifically for CamerAlert and only the ones packaged in the app can be used. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Actually, you can use your own sound files. They have to be mp3s with the same names as used in the application ( for example m_40.mp3 would be a male voice saying "forty") and be placed in the /Android/Data/com.pocketgpsworld.cameralert/files folder.
Yes, pretty lame. That's all we can offer. _________________ Lutz

Peanut44, Unless I'm missing something, by combining Darren's answer with Ibendlin's, it looks like the answer could be "Yes", assuming you don't mind rolling your sleeves up and doing some tinkering.
1) Download & Unzip the PGPSW voice files you would like. (See EDIT below).
2) Download "Audacity", a free audio program and convert the Voice files to .mp3 files.
3) Rename the new mp3 voice files and install them as per Ibendlin's instructions.
4) Let us know if it worked.
Good Luck.
EDIT, I've just re-read Ibendlin's reply and it may be that CamerAlert won't differentiate between DIY mobile, specs, fixed, etc, etc. files so you may have to use the most "Basic" PGPSW voice file set to create your DIY CamerAlert voice files. You'll need to experiment I think. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
