So, I nail the fixed mount (from TT) to my Brodit holder..only to find that when I've finally managed to get the right angled micro USB into the slot..it fouls on the bracket, so preventing the TT to be angled downwards as far as I would like.
So, apart from butchering the mount (by cutting out the bottom right hand corner- near the screw hole) any ideas how I can get around this obviious design flaw?

I remember getting a Brodit mount for my old Go300.
I couldn't work out why there was such an oddly-shaped cutout on the back plate.

...You've guessed it! Rolling Eyes

Got a picture? How much extra room do you need? A pair of MOVE clips would move the mount a half centimetre further out, would that be enough?

The issue is that some TomTom chargers have the cable exit straight out of the back or the plug, the oriantation is 180 degrees out so the plug doesn't fit the socket due to it fouling on the body of the Brodit Mount.

Easy option is to use a different car charger cable with the cable exiting to the left or right rather than the charger lead you have at the moment - Mike

The USB connector is at 90 degrees.... Laughing

You must have the mount at quite an angle then to cause it to foul in this way, there are some 90 degree angled addaptors available from e-bay etc that might offer a solution although it will put more of the cable on show - Mike

Cheers,
I'm going to live with it for now & see how it looks when I'm driving in sunny weather (probably one day in July)
It's more of an annoyance..this mount (active) has not been thought through.
Moving the mount out would not really help..the actual mount stem is a tad too short.
Can't get the camera in to take a decent shot..sorry!

Hi Mike,
The mount actually fouls itself...if you will.
The stem (from the mount itself to the plate which is screwedto the brodit holder) is a tad too short.
The thickness of the right angled connector prevents it being angled further down.
The only way to do it would be to actually cut out the bottom right hand corner of the mount, giving a further few mm of clearance.
My colleague who has also bought the same combination has notde the same 'concern'

Again, it's a niggle not a car crash.

However & OT..I've found the full spoken directions (including street names) to be awful when compared to the 720T.
