I was thinking of starting a POI for village/church halls, community centres etc, what does everyone think? _________________ TomTom ONE Series 30 (v8) & TMC traffic

We already have Civic Amenity Site. Would they fall under that banner?
We welcome all POI data, so if you can collate locations and submit, we will host. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Why the hell do they call a 'tip' a Civic Amenity Centre? 'Rubbish and Recycling Centre' would be better, and more descriptive. The confusion above would then no longer made. |

Perhaps that's why you see so much rubish dumped at the side of the road, they can't find the local tip! _________________ TomTom ONE Series 30 (v8) & TMC traffic

So... what should we call the new section that JoolsTwo wants to start?
"Halls" is a bit short
"Community Centres" doesn't really cover church halls |

We should consider renaming them to HWRC's, Civic Amenity Site smacks of Americanism to me? _________________ Darren Griffin |

well yell.com just refers to them as Halls. How about community centres & halls? Shall I submit a csv file of my local ones?
HWRCs would probably be best as its full title. _________________ TomTom ONE Series 30 (v8) & TMC traffic

My suggestions:
"Community Halls"
"Council Waste Sites" |

I was being lazy, I meant 'Household Waste Recycling Centre'. That's what they use on the maps and signs around here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I just checked to see how many characters you are allowed in a POI name on a TomTom.
'Household Waste Recycling Centre' is fine, and it even all fits on the screen when you do a search.
You can actually have 'Household Waste Recycling Centre1234567890123456789012345678901' (although not all of that gets shown on screen) so there's plenty of scope for inventive names!
How sad am I? (don't answer that!) |

But that's not accurate, as I'm sure they just burn some of the waste or bury it in the ground, rather than recycling it. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |
