It is a straight forward download. just as you / your son already does for the uk download. Download the EUR files, extract and install in the folder which contains the map on your 720. You shall need to set the proximity alerts. Follow the links on the download page for custom sound files or assign your own sounds or type your own tts alerts (which I do as sound levels are compatable). There is no need to alter or delete any files you already have installed for the UK. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Thanks for your help Ali that does sound straight forward.
You mention the custom sound file links on the download page but I must be looking in the wrong place ...I can only see uk speed settings not euro, do you have a link please.Apologies. |

Thanks for the link Ali,I did'nt check that one.
Downloaded and copied/pasted (using "Select All"option) the europe bmp/ov2/ogg over to the Map folder but only about 9 categories appeared on the 720 when I tried to set up the proximity alerts.
On rechecking I found that quite a few different bmp & ov2 files had not been copied over. After identifying the missing culprits I repeated the process but with fewer files at a time, which appears to have been successful.Did I read somewhere that it is recommended not to copy more than 20 cats. at a time ?
Thanks again. |
