Guys,
I want to add the low bridges POI to my TT720 so that I can avoid the roads with the low bridges on.
I can't think of an option on the 720 that will let me do that but if there is, please let me know?
I know that TT do a 'works' device made for this but I don;t have that.
Do any other manufacturers offer this facility at all (Garmin, Navman, etc)?
Thanks |

Unfortunately there is no way to avoid POIs. We’ve been asking TomTom for years for this ability, but they haven’t offered it so far.

Possibly. I just use SatNav for normal cars and not LGVs. Others may be able to advise on a SatNav more suitable for LGVs than a TomTom.

A work around is as follows
Plan your route and then Browse Map Of Route. On the map display screen select Find, Point Of Interest, POI along route. This will at least show you any low bridges that are on your route. You can then manually avoid them using the find alternative option if necessary.
It is not ideal but is one way of doing it, I am sure others may have different solutions.

A workaround i use is this,
Set a warning for the low bridges poi (as you do with the cameras) and set the distance to the highest setting or 1 mile etc.
At least then if you have bridge on route it warns you in time to replan or to select avoid road block. |
