I have a TT 730. May I ask what I suspect is a really stupid question about the Clear Flash Tool? Having downloaded and installed it the TomTom web page instructions says
Quote: | When the installation has finished, the message Installation complete is displayed.
You are now ready to use the new application. |
How exactly are you supposed to use the application? The only option appears to be to quit and the TomTom then reboots. Is that using the application - in TomTom speak? It tells me to install a memory card but the 730 comes maps on internal memory although there is a slot for an sd card.
I have asked this question in a previous post on another topic but didn't receive a reply. Maybe it was a too stupid question |

Have you installed it to the internal memory on your 730? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren,
Thanks for replying. I just downloaded it, unzipped it and ran it. It ran very quickly, told me it was finished and gave me the quit option which rebooted the TT. I didn't know whether there was more to expect and choices to be made or if the programme had run and that was it. I didn't select the internal memory or a memory card option and didn't know I could. The "you are now ready to use the application" message is what gave me the courage to ask on this forum. |

That's all there is to it as far as I can recall. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks Darren
I had hoped that was it but with TT software you never quite know. |

Err... you don't!
The ClearFlash tool is installed on your PC, not the TomTom.
You then connect the TomTom via USB and run the tool on the PC, which then does the business on the TomTom..
By the way, the instructions on the tool are a bit naff... It mentions inserting a "storage card" even though it can be used on machines without an SD card slot; and more then once it mentions clicking on "OK" when there is only a forward and backward arrow on screen! |
