|

Hi folks,
I've just placed the winning bid on a Garmin 2620 and after some research (why the heck didn't I do it before buying) I see that the 2620 has a microdrive and isn't best suited for Motorcycle use, doh !
Is it correct that only the early 2620's are able to accept a CF card or can the later versions be tinkered with too ?
I was under the impression (possibly mataken) that the 2620 has a 2.5mm jack for speaker outlet, I was hoping to plug into my Autocom via this.
If anyone can help me with the above then that would be great. |

OK I'm sorted with the audio jack, still unsure about if the cf card can be fitted internally in place of the microdrive though. Anyone ? |

The 2620 was rebadged for both Triumph and BMW for use on their motorbikes, I thought. What I don't like them is the lack of internal battery but I've never heard any complaints about their lack of reliability. _________________ Tim |

Thanks Tim, I'm just going by what I've read on some Motorcycle forums. Something to do with vibration which is why the microdrive isn't best suited.
I haven't given my 2620 a decent try yet. :D |

The 2610 is the model designated as motorcycle friendly by Garmin in the 26** series. I believe they actually state (or stated) that the 2620 was not suitable for motorcycle use due to problems with vibration. |

Update
A bit late but the 2620 works fine on my motorcycle. |
