Can anone please advise me why I am unable to install this TomTom file wezipcodes715.zip (10.5MB) having downloaded and saved it to my pc. When following the instalation guide lines from TomTom's increasingly frustrating website....for some reason my TomTom Home (version 2.6) kicks in and 'says' 'searching for updates' but alas nothing installs!!!!
I'm not very technical, but just keen to get this sorted out!!
If you're out there and can help me I'd be really chuffed!...Thanks |

Welcome to the forum, unzip the download and put the files in to the "zip" folder on the device using Windows Explorer, there should be two files in the download IIRC, once these are in the correct folder on the device it will enable full post code search - Mike |

If it is WEzipcodes it should have files for both UK and the Netherlands, so there might be FOUR files:
Great_Britain.postal
Great_BritainPostal.ver
Nederland.postal
NederlandPostal.ver
The .ver files are not actually necessary. They are just text files showing what version of the files you have.
All four files can go in the folder called "zip" on your device. |

Okay, but the zip file mentioned was wezipcodes715.zip. I presumed that was the version number which is old, but may be I'm wrong |

No, you're quite right, but the original question was "how do I install this file". |

Is that like asking "How do I cross the road" and answering "Face the other side, then start walking". Maybe Pocketgps (and I) have to think he'd like to know there are later postcode files than 715 whilst he's at it. _________________ Dennis

Now I will apologise to Andy_P

Andy_P, you're quite right as well. I should have said I think there is a newer version than that available |

OK, shall we all agree to agree?
And here's the one thing no-one's mentioned yet....
One of several links for the UK V801 + Netherlands V807 Postcode Files

Thanks Gentlemen for your assistance, I've now completed the installation of the TomTom post code reader. Sorry if my topic has caused a few 'cross words' between you...always good for a 'spot'of healthy verbal exchange off the page! I'm much obliged to all!...Best reagrds Barry |
