My 540 Live has suddenly stopped getting text messages from my 'phone.
It used to work just fine, reading the messages aloud for me whilst driving; a great hands-free asset.
Now, it doesn't even beep when the 'phone receives a message, let alone read it out for me!
I've been through all the settings I can find, and re-paired the two bluetooth devices several times.
I have noted that the 540, when being paired with the 'phone, (a Nokia 3110c) doesn't show any messaging functions in the features detected, although the 'phone's settings haven't changed, as far as I know!
Any ideas, anyone? |

I had a similar thing on my GO740 Live; no functions for the phone. I deleted the phone from the list on the TomTom, deleted the GO740 from the phone, did a reset of the GO740 and then paired the 2 devices together. Everything is now back to working the way it should. |

I tried that. I just deleted the pairing from both devices, then re-paired them.
The 540 then reported that it found the following facilities in the phone:
Hands-free calling, Phonebook, and Tone keyboard (DTMF).
I can write messages OK, but they don't get from the phone to the 540 when I receive them! |

Just checked the phone compatability list on Tomtom's site.
The Nokia 3110c is listed there as not being capable of receiving text messages via the 540. |
