No particular reason - (other than a general interest)
I posted last week that the Aldi system would be going on sale on the 13th (Tomorrow) and in a subsequent post advised someone to get there very early as quite often these special offers sell out as soon as the store opens. I know from previous experience that when a particularly good offer comes out many people are disappointed. I notice from various postings on these forums that a number of folks plan to purchase one of these Aldi systems.
So my question is this folks.... Hands up, who actually managed to get their hands on one of these systems and who lost out? (Hopefully none)
Cheers

Got one this morning. I arrived at the store at 08:45 and by 09:00 there was probably 30 people standing in a queue behind me. The store manager said they had only got 10 units in as there was a really slow uptake when they ran last years promotion and he wasn't taking any chances on over-stocking.
A lot of the people there seemed to be buying the PDA (okay, probably some of them were there for the travel iron and alarm clock) so if your store still has some left it's probably worth getting down there as soon as possible. |

I managed to pick up a unit the day they went on sale. I got there around 8:40 and there were nly 3 people in front of me closely followed by about another 15 behind me.
Managed to bag one and was amazed to find not 1 but 2 MMC cards 256mb inside my box :D *beaming smile*.
I aint gonna complain its a great system spent many hours over last few days playing with it.
p.s. it is definately NOT the old system the new PPC250. Guess I was lucky to get 2 cards hehe
Cheers

Got mine on thursday, tried the navigation software out today, works really well. I thought I had 2 SD cards at first but found that 1 was just a blanking card (presumably to stop crap getting into the slot when there is no real card inserted). _________________ I didn't do it, it was like that when I got here HONEST |

Didn't find out about it till 2pm on Thursday - tried local branch - but the manager told me they's sold out at 9.30am he rang around and found one available at a branch some ten miles away... so rushed up and bougt one - put it together in the car park at Aldi and let it direct me home - very pleased - thought I'd got two batteries till I found I hadn't put one in the unit at the car park and had been running it on the car adapter! Doh!!
