Proud owner of a brand new 720go T, to replace my aging Garmin. When connecting to PC, explorer comes up and can see the SD card, but TT Home says no TT device found. If I connect my PDA with TT Nav 6 on, it finds it straight away. Any help gratefully received, as I need this unit ASAP.
Cheers,
Steve
Sorry, just downloaded from site, and it works. Must be a problem with the CD |

First job is to do a backup using Windows Explorer, right NOW - copy everything into a backup directory on your PC (e.g. GO720Backup2008-05-12) and next time have another dated name for the backup and so on.
Now, have you REALLY got an SD card in there? They don't come with one fitted (but they DO have a dinky little false bit of plastic - can't think why!). So usually the "SD card" it's seeing is the internal memory.
So give us something more to go on please, telling us exactly what you've done and how.
Normally, if you install TT Home, it will start up automatically when you connect your GO to the PC - when you connect and switch on the GO, it asks if you want to connect to Computer and you tap YES. Window comes up on PC saying what do you want to do with Drive F (or whatever drive) and on mine, at the same time, Home fires up. So fire up Home. Then you will need to log in if you want to do anything much. The GO has to have its own unique email address and password and you also need the same details setting up as an account with TomTom - not the same as for TT Nav (if you've got a TT account for that).
No more for now until you come back with some more info. One VERY important thing when you do get it seen by Home - you MUST disconnect properly - click Device, Disconnect, then bottom right, click OK, BUT DO NOT disconnect at that stage. The Go will reboot and ask again if you want to connect to Computer, tap NO and when it then shows the map, you can safely disconnect. REMEMBER THIS DISCONNECT PROCEDURE.
Edit - GRRR - I see you didn't wait for advice _________________ Dennis

I assumed it was to keep dirt out of the slot! _________________ Anita

Some 720's (not mine) apparently came with a sticker covering the slot saying something like 'no sd card needed'. |
