|
|
This may be a daft question but here I go
I’ve got a TT910 running the latest NavCore software.
Why are the buttons on the remote reversed when in navigation mode
Directly on the TomToms display, the right button brings up the status summary and the left repeats the last voice command.
However on the remote, the left button brings up the status summary and the right repeats the last voice command
Why?
It’s driving me mad and it’s completely illogical
The left and right buttons are correct on all the other TomTom menus etc.
Thanks |

This sounds like software problem to me - my remote always worked "properly" with my 710 (which unfortunately died before recent upgrades, so I haven't tested it).
Just for information, the Bluetooth remote for the new x20 models is poor - it doesn't navigate around the map in "Browse Map" and "Browse Route". _________________ Dennis

Some of the buttons on the Remote are mapped to a particular Function. Other are controlled by the screen position of the Function.
The only way to change it is to change the setting, in Change Preferences, for Operate left/right handed.
I'm not sure if that will help you achieve what you want. _________________ Richard

That's what both of understand Richard. But the remote control's bottom right button used to give the choices Details, Find alternative, Done and the bottom left button (sort of did a volume test by) repeating a navigation instruction. He's saying they have reversed now, for no apparent reason except to confuse the innocent. I gave my information as a possible hint that TT may have jiggered about with remote functions in Navcore 7, to the detriment of both the old wireless one (x00 and x10 range) and the Bluetooth one (x20 range). Mr whatsisname TT Managing Director's favourite daughter has come up with another bright idea, or maybe this time it's his favourite little son. _________________ Dennis

Thanks Oldboy for the tip.
You were quite spot on.
I switched my 910 to right handed operation and the right/left buttons on the remote now operate the corresponding functions in navigation mode.
I'm sure the left and right buttons should't swap over in navigation mode as it is very confusing
Another bug for TomTom to fix _________________ 🔸🔸 Currently using TomTom GO 940 & Locus Map 🔸🔸 |
