|
|
Hello I purchased a tomtom 720t yesterday and love it. I have some POI sets that i want to load onto it. I have a 2GB SD card bought seperatly and it works ok as i have added some voices to it from the tomtom home software.
Can i add POI sets to my card so that they are read from it and not the unit? Every time i try it says installation successful and there is no POI's in it.
How many POI categories can i put onto the device. Where can i find this information?
Hope someone can help? |

POI files must be stored within the map folder they are intended to be used with, you could store them on the card IF the active map were on the card, as it isn't you must put the POI files into the map folder on the device, there is plenty of spare space and the files themselves are very small - Mike |

With the latest application software installed you can put around 300 Custom POI Categories on the device, should you want to concatenate POI files I would have a look at POIEdit which can do quite a number of different things with POI files - Mike |

Thanks again for the response. I didn't realise it could be so many. Someone else to said to me it was around 100. I have the latest tomtom version installed on my device so if it is definately 300 then i am happy. |

100 with v6 software on all models
169 with v7.161, on the 910
The figure of 300 for an x20 model was quoted to me by TT tech support, but it hasn't been confirmed by experiment yet. |

Would it also be 169 with the latest version on my model the 720t? |

No, by "x20" I meant the 520, 520T, 720, 720T and 920T.
So, 300 if the man from TT can be believed. |

Thanks for the replies. I have been having trouble finding this information out through tomtom as they only have version 6 information posted on thier website. |
