i have recently purchased a Streetpilot I3 and it seems a wonderful peice of kit but i need help with a few things.
1. It hasnt got GMT time zone on it and i cant set the correct time on it i can find how to do it, someone suggested i contact Garmin and they will show me how but someone must know on here?
2. i dont have the postcode functionality on it, i did read that only the NT maps have postcode but ive found that the NT maps are not as details as the metroguide maps? how do i get the detailed maps with the postcode search for UK? |

Hi and welcome.
1) Timezone - Use Europe Western (WET) The time sets itself once you get a satellite lock
2) You should be able to enter a postcode by selecting
Where To?, Address, Country Then it'll ask for City or Post Code.
Depending on your Firmware you might need to enter the space in the postcode. Newer firmwares don't need this. Latest Firmware is available click here |

Settings, Map, MapSource...
What does it say?
When you go to enter a PostCode what does it say across the top of the screen?
What postcode are you trying?
Where did you get the i3 from?
Why do you mention MetroGuide maps? |

Metroguide maps are non-routable. There is a program called MetroWizz Click Here which apparently adds routing to the Metroguide maps but i have no idea on how to use it.
Otherwise buy the V9 maps from Garmin or wait until next year when the V10 maps are out.... |

Garmin website - I believe this is what you need - City Navigator® Europe NT However at $300 a new Nuvi might be cheaper. I suspect this is a full copy and not an upgrade. I can't be sure if you can upgrade from Metroguide to City Navigator® Europe NT.
The update site is here.
To be honest i would ask Garmin for guidance. On the one hand the upgrade should be about £45, however you might not be able to upgrade from Metroguide so you might have to fork out £150, in which case a new Nuvi might be a better option.

Just had this from Garmin regarding the V10 maps
Quote: | Unfortunately we still have no firm details on mapping updates for 2008.
We are anticipating the release to be around January or February but I
have no details on pricing. Sorry that I can't be of any more help at
this stage. |
