Just wondering if anyone has any experience of GPS Extra's . co . uk
As my ICN510 is perfectly functional, and running Smart ST2005 all is actually pretty good. The odd mapping issue does spring up here and there, and justifying £99 for new maps when I can get a complete new Sat Nav for around £90 is a bit of an issue.
I've just googled Navman ICN Maps as a recomendation mentioned in another post, and come across the above company.
Has anyone used them for their, on face value, excellent value map updates?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew. _________________ A Happy user of...

No, not heard of them, Andrew but coincedentally I have just been emailed by TeleAtlas with a discounted offer for maps for most of the Navman range [Here] The offer is for maps at around the 20% range of discounts until 30th of this month. Could be a pre-cursor to the expected new mapping which is due out (at least for the Navman) on 4th December
But then, what do I know
Oh! BTW, your iCN510 is also covered with Western European maps [here] _________________ Gee-Pee

I would steer clear if I were you (GPS Extra that is), this looks to be a little bit dodgy to say the least, cheap maps, inbuilt speed cameras (probably stolen from somewhere else - although their description of the PMobile category is incorrect )
No doubt both TomTom and Navman will be very interested in this site, let alone PocketGPSWorld - while we are at it why not let Nokia check them out as well, it might all be above board but somehow....... - Mike |

Having looked a little closer at the site Aldridge_Andy posted I would say without doubt this is illegal software, most of the supplied maps for the Navman devices are TomTom and require the Navman to be unlocked then loaded with stolen software - stay well away from the site if I were you - Mike |

Cheers for the info, and thanks once again to Gee-Pee for pointing out the offers at Navshop.
Just need to get my money together now, it's just the economics of the Discounted Navman Maps at £80 or a brand new MyGuide 3100 for exactly the same price courtesy of e-buyer. Surely the new MyGuide option has to be the preferable one? _________________ A Happy user of...

Don't forget to factor in your current iCN is worth something on ebay.
I have often said I believe you are better to sell and buy again than upgrade software. Particualrly if you can get a SiRFIII chipset thrown in. |
