|
|
I've just bought the Garmin Mobile 10 and I'm trying to install Garmin's Mobile XT software to my X50v. But I cannot find the way to make it work.
The files are transfered to my Dell, and after the installation is completed I try to run the program and the following message appears:
" Cannot open 'Que'. A critical component is either missing or cannot start because program memory is unavailable. Tap Start - Settings - System tab - Memory, stop rograms that did not automatically stop and try again " .
I tried that, but nothing happens, the same message appears again.
I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks.

Try doing a soft reset of the AXIM - this has been known to fix installations of complex s/w. _________________ Phil |

So how much programme memory do you have, and how much is available? I have Mobile XT running on an iPAQ5555. _________________ Tim |

Where have you installed MobileXT to? Can you install it onto a storage card? _________________ Tim |

I installed it onto the sd card, it didn't work. I also tried the built-in storage but with the same result.
Do you know if the Windows Mobile version has something to do with this? |

Which version of MobileXT do you have? I've no idea if it's version dependent as to where it installs. I have WM2003; is yours 2003SE? Also, the amount of memory you have is quite low, I think. Isn't the V50 a 128Mb (64/64) device? What else do you have installed to internal memory? _________________ Tim |

The version is 8.0 and my Dell works with the WM2003SE. I've erased the software from the built-in memory and now I have 16.5 MB free for programs.
The main memory is of 64 MB, divided into "storage" and "program". The 128MB is only for ROM.
I have nothing installed in the storage memory but still, some 17.3MB appear to be in use. |

This is confusing as the latest MobileXT on Garmin's site is 4.10.20! _________________ Tim |

Try to open/run it manually with FIle Explorer (sometimes installer makes wrong shortcut).
..SD/Garmin Mobile Xt
or
..SD/Garmin/Apps/WM/QuePPC.exe
Also install latest version of Mobile XT from Garmin site.
I had same problem but only with old ver of MobileXT. |

I tried installing the latest version of the Mobile XT and the difference now is that when I execute de program, I get to see the first screen for less than a second, and the program shuts down.
That could be a signal!! |

For me it looks like you have uninstalled or nor correctly uninstalled previous version of MobileXT or old QueMap.
Be sure to uninstall all Garmin apps and if you want make MASER RESET for your Dell to go back to factory setting. |
