Hi, hope this is the right sub forum, if not please move :-)
I am running tomtom 6 on a Dell Axim X51v with out any problems until recently.
Now for some reason TT will launch by itself and then my PDA will stay switched on and drain the battery, unless I hear it and then I can turn it off. Along with this it seems to launch itself for no real reason when I am using Mr Dell.
It has also been resetting my configurations on POI, ie different sounds etc.
I have today put TT on a different memory card and plan to swap cards when needed.
Is this the best solution ? I have thought of getting a CAB installer and then reinstalling TT totaly on this new SD card.

Never had my DELL X51v and TT5 or TT6 launch automatically other than when I insert the SD card with the TT maps on it.
You aren't seeing the problem caused by ActiveSync starting up automatically to try to refresh your contacts etc? Have a look at www.aximusers.com for more info - it is usually fixed by upgrading to the A12 firmware or by the 'fake server' trick outlined on the site.
Other than that I would recommend always EXITing TT6 before turning off your system. After doing this check your AXIM after about an hour and see what is running - it may appear to be off - but check the Running Programs and stop them all. If ActiveSync is running you need to visit the site above. At least be thankful that you don't have to re-install the X51v when the battery runs out. _________________ Phil |

Sounds like the storage card is refreshing. Rename the 2577 folder to 2577x. this will prevent the auto run. |
Could be a good call - I deleted the 2577 file as I don't like it auto-starting when I insert the card I have the maps on. I run Anquet and MemoryMap on the same unit and have multiple cards for the maps and auto starts are a pain. _________________ Phil |

Thanks for all the advice.
So far with the maps on another card all is working well. When I have a little more time I will try the folder renaming option as this sounds like a ideal solution.
Again, many thanks to all for the advice. |
