I am currently due a handset upgrade with O2.

They told me that I can have an O2 Orbit (HTC Artemis) for £159.99 without CoPilot, or £299.99 with CoPilot. I am assuming that "CoPilot" just includes maps of UK and Ireland (the lady I spoke to didn't seem to know a lot about the package).

Looking at the TomTom web site, it seems that I can get complete maps of Europe (and probably better software!) for £85.

It therefore seems like a no-brainer to me that I should get the handset without CoPilot from O2, and then buy a copy of TT6.

Am I missing something obvious?

How important is WiFi to you you? - if its not then I would look at swapping networks over to T-Mobile where you can get the same phone (minus the WiFi) for free, depending upon the tarrif and they were throwing in Co-Pilot Live for free.
If you need the WiFi then the Orbit is a great device but I would try and phone O2 up to get a better price, if they won't move on cost then I would go with the device and TomTom to be honest, the new version of Co-Pilot has just been announced, so if you buy it now you could be stuck with an old application and old maps (not seen any mention of an upgrade for existing users as yet).
If you use mobile internet check out the prices (that was the prime reason I switched service provider last year, after 10 years with O2 - there GPRS tarrif was way to costly to be viable) - Mike
