Whenever I soft reset or turn off and on my iPAQ, it starts TTN6 automatically.
In the windows directory there is a folder called Autorun, which contains another folder called SD card, which contains a program called "autorun.exe". I renamed the Autorun folder to Autorunspc and turned the unit off and on again via a soft reset.
Lo and behold, the directory was recreated and TTN6 restarted.
Is it safe to delete the autorun.exe file? _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |

If you install from the DVD to an SD card and I presume purchase the pre-installed version on SD Card that will happen. That is how TT 6 auto-installs itself. If you moved the application from main memory to an SD card it will reinstall the app in maim memory every time.
I had no issues nuking autorun.exe to fix the problem but to be safe you could rename it first. Be sure to check your \windows\startup\ folder to make sure a startup link wasn't installed there too.
The above behavior is another reason I gave up on 6 and sent it back. |

Regretfully, renaming the file folders failed. So I went to the source and renamed the exe it hits on the SD card in the sub directory 2577...
When I next started TT, it stated I had no maps, so I had to re-install the app to make the maps visable again!
Any other ideas greatfully received? _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |

I had the map not found issue a couple of times too. Another reason I gave up and returned 6. Have you tried a soft-reset? I think one of the moderators suggested that.
I never did anything with the 2577 directory and autorun.exe.
Are you running TomTom Navigator.exe directly from the \navigator\ directory? You might be using a icon that points to autorun.exe or somewhere else.
Did you make sure a link is not in your \windows\startup\ directory\ ? |
