Just a quick tip really, if your in the market for a Haicom GPS make sure you get a price/quote for the Haicom 204s NOT the Haicom 204e.

The 204e is the older GPS mouse which has reportedly had problems with the case cracking, the 204s is its replacement as I understand it. Caution when you buy your GPS to ensure that it is the 204s as some sellers are still supplying the 204e, probably to run down stock, the thing is the 204s is far superior in everyway and is about the same price.

The e denotes Evermore chipset as opposed to SiRF chipset and many people have commented about performance issues with Evermore. It's generally considered SiRF chipsets to be better than Evermore, although Evermore's latest chipsets are better.

Hi, me again Confused
just a quick note to let you know my Haicom went south a while back, it worked fine on overcast/cloudy days but as soon as the car interior got hot it lost its position Twisted Evil when the car cooled down it worked fine.

I took it too bits and found loads of heat damage around the screw heads etc, also the "can" had split at one end where the solder join had cracked Sad and that was in a Renault Laguna II with a solar windscreen and a sunblind on the parcel shelf, so its not as if the inside of the car got that hot to begin with !, the mouse was hidden behind the sunblind, so it wasn't even directly in the sun !!

Anyway I'm now using a Holux GR211 on the dash of my Toyota Verso, which (touch wood) is working fine :D is absolutely tiny and works great in city streets, virtually always gets/keeps a signal :D

Hi, I sold one of these receivers to a work colleague but unfortunately it's packed in.
It's no longer under warranty so i thought I'd try to take it to bits. I've got the screws out but it still wont come apart.
Any advice would be much appreciated :D
