Hi
New to this forum. I have read through the previous posts but not having any success. I have an HP Ipaq rz1710 Michelin Gps system . It has been working fine but now when I try to start the navigator software I get a message reading "file error" and a suggestion to free up storage space, this I have done including a hard reset but still get the same message. I have also tried copying the SD card to the PC ready to move to a bigger card as suggest in another post but get an error message unable to copy one of the map files. Does this mean the card is corrupted if so how do I reinstall it. I cant find anything on the CD to do that.
Regards

Hi Triumph, I was getting the same error untill I got a bigger SD card, so I think a bigger card will sort this problem out. As for copying the card, I had a few problems too, If you try and copy it all, all in one go, it does miss bits out for some reason, what I did was, make a new File on your PC called "SD Card Backup" or whatever, then inside that file, make more files, the same number as on the SD card, then name them the same, then, copy each map/file/program etc, from the SD card, to the new file, one at a time, not ALL the files from each folder, but one folder at a time, and one file at a time, then do the same onto the new SD card, It worked for me. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

I can second the fact that a bigger SD card is a must. I think it is appalling that the card that is supplied is not large enough to handle typical usage.
As for copying, I did have some problems but I can't remember wht they were now although my workaround was not as long as Tanda's.
Best of luck ... _________________ - - - - - - - - -

Hi
Thanks for the help guys. I have got it working again by deleteing 2 files from the maps directory that had a double extension just leaving the main map file this was suggested in another post I found on the forum. I guess that these are for storing routes as they reappeared on the card when I started using it again. so I have taken you advice and copied everything to a 256 card.
On another subject does anyone know where to get spares for the cradle I have lost the sucker bit out of the centre
Thank again
