Hi,
does anyone know if the memory used for tracking is a fixed amount? or will the (Quest 1) be able to store more points if there's more free memory?
(I'm planning trip; won't be using the quest for navigating; but would like to store points for about 2 weeks... with no PC support)
cheers for any ideas. |

The Quest's tracklog is 10,000 points. Looking at the tracklog on my Quest and it is full at about 1000 miles and 30 hours of driving logged.
You should go Menu - Menu - Track Setup and select Least Often for recording the tracklogs and see how you get on.
It adaptively records track points when it feels that it needs to. Driving round town (which is most of my driving) it has to record many more track points and on a straight motorway at constant speed. On an aeroplane it will record track points quite a distance apart while you are at cruise because you are on such a stable heading, height and speed.
Good luck! _________________ Gone fishing! |

thanks - that's what I fuggured.
I guess I can set it to "by time" rather than auto.
about 10 days trip, max 10 hours/day, 60 mins/hour -> 6000 point at 1/min... should be ok at a click ever 40-50 seconds...
I want to stuff the track into google earth when I get back :D
cheers. |
